The Goodbye Girl

Performed by Hootie & the Blowfish

Spencer Proffer arranged, produced and mixed two-time Grammy Award-winning artists, Hootie & The Blowfish, who recorded a remake of David Gates' 1978 hit single "Goodbye Girl" to accompany the 2003 TNT Original film NEIL SIMON'S THE GOODBYE GIRL, starring Patricia Heaton (Everybody Loves Raymond) and Jeff Daniels. The music video for "Goodbye Girl" featured the band, Heaton and clips from the film. The video was directed by Kyle Cooper and was used to promote the TNT film, including a run on 6200 Regal Cinemas screens nationwide throughout December, 2003. Proffer served as the Executive Producer of the video.

With the rich, bluesy vocals of Darius Rucker and gleeful harmonies of guitarist Mark Bryan, bassist Dean Felber and drummer Jim Sonefeld, Hootie & the Blowfish, from Columbia, S.C., sold more than 25 million records worldwide after their infectious melodies hit the airwaves in 1994. The Grammy-Award-winning band remains dedicated to their music and fans.
