100 YEARS & STILL FIGHTING

100 Years And Still Fighting is a feature-length documentary for which Spencer has teamed with Civil Rights activist and visionary, Catherine Hood, to celebrate the power of African-American women by illuminating their struggle towards independence, justice, and equality for more than 100+ years.

Much more than a history lesson, this is a real journey through time as we experience America from the viewpoint of "Black” women, led by leading contemporary female music artists. Our goal is to enlist talents such as Alicia Keys, Rihanna, Patti LaBelle, Missy Elliot, Janelle Monae, Mary J. Blige amongst other powerful voices

Visual comparisons will connect today's reality with the past highlighting some of the untold stories of the antebellum South, African American women exclusion and rejection in the women’s suffrage movement, and the vehement fight for "Black" women (and women of color) equality rights for the past 100 years (and beyond)!

100 Years And Still Fighting will amalgamate the past, present, and future in a deep rooted tale of oppression, strength, and reparation. It will seamlessly weave together stories of the African American women who fought for a better community and the contemporaries who continue to carry the torch.

Narrated by a major black female celebrity who will speak from the viewpoint of today's African American leaders and the descendant themselves, we aim to have our documentary film be a groundbreaking, cinematic experience which will challenge the status quo on what it means to be “Black” and a female in America today.
