Presented by National CineMedia, VH1 Classic & McGhee-Proffer Media

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (New York, NY and Los Angeles, CA) – October 16, 2006 –
In 1976, KISS came to Detroit for an incendiary concert at the Motor City's Cobo Hall and the world of rock & roll was never the same again. On October 26th at 8:00 p.m. local time, fans can travel back in time with the biggest, baddest, most triumphant show band in rock & roll history to catch that historic show in a Big Screen Concert event for only one night in select movie theatres nationwide.

KISS ALIVE! ON THE BIG SCREEN features the band’s classic line-up – Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Ace Frehley and Peter Criss – plus a never-before-seen special rockumentary with Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley as they take a look back to the band’s 1970s roots. All historic concert and rockumentary footage including the Cobo Hall performance and KISS Day in Cadillac, MI will be shown in its original 1975-76 format. In the past thirty years, a thousand musical trends and genres have come and gone and come again, but through it all, there has always been KISS!

KISS lead singer and co-founding band member Paul Stanley comments, "I was blown away by this footage. Watching it on the big screen is as close as anyone will ever get to traveling back to those days."

KISS ALIVE! On The Big Screen will be presented by National CineMedia and VH1 Classic in association with McGhee-Proffer Media for only one night at 164 participating Regal, United Artists, Edwards, Cinemark, and Georgia Theatre Company movie theatres across the country. Tickets for this exciting Big Screen Concerts event are on sale now at presenting theatre box offices and online at www.BigScreenConcerts.com for $10.00. (For a complete list of participating theatre locations, please visit the Web site.)

KISS has recorded more gold records than any other American band in history and has sold 80+ million records throughout their career. The group has earned more than 55 gold, platinum and multi-platinum awards since receiving its first gold record for "KISS Alive!" in 1975. KISS has performed more than 3500 concerts in front of nearly eighty million fans in virtually every country on planet earth. Where other bands have fan clubs, KISS has a full-fledged Army of the most rabid and loyal true believers in the world. For more information, visit www.kissonline.com.

"KISSology Vol. 1 1974-1977," a 2-disc DVD will be released on Halloween day, October 31, five days following the Big Screen Concerts event. "KISSology Volume One 1974-1977" provides ample evidence of why KISS has lasted so long and continues to mean so much to so many millions of people. For the KISS Army, this DVD marks the arrival of nothing less than a Holy Grail: 6 solid hours of vintage KISS going all the way back to the deep early roots of the band's classic line-up – Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Ace Frehley and Peter Criss – captured and re-mastered on 2 state-of-the-art DVDs featuring more than 70 live performances and four full concerts bundled along with unreleased tracks and never-before-seen footage. "KISSology Volume One 1974-1977” is the first volume of a definitive three part collection – Volumes Two and Three are being readied for release in 2007.

“KISS truly took rock and roll to new heights. Music fans will witness how high on this special night as well as on the upcoming ‘KISSology Volume 1’ release, presented by VH1 Classic,” said Eric Sherman, Senior Vice President and General Manager, VH1 Classic. “And as a card-carrying member of the KISS Army since I was 15, I’m personally excited to see the band on the big screen.”
