Spencer has teamed up with radio programming icon, Lee Abrams, to produce an evergreen 100 minute mini movie, narrative documentary film, SONIC MESSENGERS.

Plans are to make a groundbreaking documentary which will form the basis of a forthcoming 6 part docu-series. Rock is at the heart.

Led by Lee, one of America’s most successful radio programmers in media, the Sonic Messengers story will be presented with total credibility, given that both of the producers of this project have lived in the trenches and understand the essence of the storyline.

Sonic Messengers will be a 100 minute documentary geared for carriage on major streamer which will morph into revenue generating line extensions ranging from a planned Sirius-XM radio special (Lee was one of the founders), 2 podcasts as well as a table top book via one of Meteor 17’s joint venture book distribution partners, e.g.. Readerlink.who partnered with Spencer on the best selling (91,100 units) Elvis Comeback book with a forward by Baz Luhrmann and intro from Spencer himself.

SM is a venture focusing on one the world’s great love affairs - the electric story of America’s musically charged 1950’s through the modern age, which transports you cinematically through the brilliant lens of America’s soundtrack - radio, and the music and culture it powered. Abrams is well known as one of the leading rock radio programmers; Proffer one of the top rock producers.Originally conceived in 2020-21, the partners both dove deep into development and research and both managed to devote solid time and focus to this evergreen project. That time to go into production is now.

Lee and Spencer envision the overall narrative documentary to become a back door pilot for what they forsee as a multi-part series doing a deeper dive in to the various decades of music evolution through today. They plan a 100 minute documentary that rattles our passionate memories as it begins with the state of radio, society and music in the black in white 50’s - the emerging Rock n' Roll culture on the streets, in the music and on the air.

In the post war America - from the birth of Top 40 - then evolving on a trip through Beatlemania into the emergence of cerebral FM, we then charge through the years until we wind up in the current era of satellites and streaming - powerfully illustrating the explosive musical and cultural highs and lows of these remarkable years.

Executive Producer and partner, John Cleese, co-Founder & leader of Monty Python, will give us his ex No American POV on how radio evolved pop culture. John is a great voice to do that and amplify the journey.

Planned PARTICIPANTS: Major Artists of today -where radio shaped their careers plus current radio broadcast stalwarts in America, like top execs at Sirius XM and iHeart who admire and cite Lee Abrams as their mentor.

This will be a solid audio visual trip through the great American Soundtrack.
