Projects and Partners Special Olympics Theme
Spencer has produced and arranged the new theme song for the widely respected Special Olympics, (www.specialolympics.org) with Flying Machines. Special Olympics was started by Eunice Kennedy Shriver over 40 years ago and has raised awareness and done great for its intended purpose. In fact, S.O. has raised nearly $100MM dollars through their nexus with the music world via the Very Special Christmas albums. Artists like Springsteen, U2, Sting, Elton, Dave Mathews, Madonna, Stevie Wonder, Bon Jovi, Eric Clapton and even Frank Sinatra have contributed performances for the charity. They have events in over 120 countries around the world. Some of the most respected global brands and sponsors have stood next to the charity for decades, such as Coca Cola, Bank of America, American Express and many local charities. We have plans to have the song, HERE WE ARE, recorded in over a dozen languages with major stars from around the world. First completed and mixed recording on the Flying Machines track which Spencer produced in Los Angeles is by SHAAN, a major star in India, courtesy of EMI/Virgin INDIA. Shaan and his team sang this anthem in HINDI (see below). We are also in discussions with EMI/Virgin India about putting together a compilation album of previously released hit songs (branded SPECIAL OLYMPICS) that mirror the spirit and sensibility of our new theme, led by HERE WE ARE. This forms the blueprint for recordings and campaigns which we intend to execute over the course of 2011 in another ten territories, around the world with hit artists and strong label partners. Tons of support around the world for Special Olympics and this venture, from theWall St Journal, NY Times, Rolling Stone, Yahoo, AOL, American Express, Bank of America, Coca Cola and other important organizations. Once we have a portfolio of international versions of HERE WE ARE, the plan is to have an American star record a version in English. At that point, Spencer will cut and paste these recordings into a “Global Version” which can be released virally and as a meaningful statement and promotion, around the world. Listen to "Here We Are": Listen to "Hai Hum Yaha" ("Here We Are" in Hindi): HERE WE ARE MY YESTERDAYS WERE DARK, BUT TODAYS A DIFFERENT DAY |
