Projects and Partners New Wave Entertainment Meteor 17 and Spencer Proffer have forged an alliance with premier live and DVD production company, NEW WAVE ENTERTAINMENT. NWE will serve as the line and physical visual capture production unit to all of M17’s live events, shooting, editing and posting them into DVDs and other multi platform formats.
New Wave Entertainment (www.nwe.com) is a is a premier Content Development and Production Enterprise and one of the entertainment industry‘s largest Entertainment Marketing and Creative Services Agencies. Burbank-based New Wave is owned by principals Paul Apel and Alan Baral. New Wave’s Television & Feature Film Development & Production department has produced hundreds of hours of television programming. New Wave has established an outstanding reputation for producing high-quality programming, and has created original programming for NBC, ABC, HBO, TBS, Logo, Oxygen, UPN, History Channel, Arts & Entertainment, SciFi, and other networks. New Wave’s television group includes many award-winning producers, writers and directors, which have collected numerous Emmy awards and other honors. Currently in production is NESN‘s Comedy All-Stars, the weekly half-hour stand-up comedy series is set to premiere this summer on the New England Sports Network. Most recently New Wave produced Frank TV for TBS. The half-hour sketch comedy series starring comedian/master impersonator Frank Caliendo, premiered to 2.9 million viewers. Also for TBS, New Wave produced Caliendo‘s one-hour comedy concert All Over The Place. Other recent productions include the hit ABC series The Next Best Thing: Who is The Greatest Celebrity Impersonator?, Dane Cook’s Tourgasm series and Vicious Circle concert film, both for HBO. With Lionsgate and WWE, New Wave produced the action feature “The Condemned”. New feature co-productions are in development with DreamWorks, Gold Circle Films and Spyglass. Led by Home Entertainment President, Michael Meadows, the Home Entertainment & Behind The Scenes Production department at New Wave is the motion picture industry’s largest and most award-winning producer of DVD Special Features for Home Entertainment, as well as an important producer of specially produced direct-to-DVD entertainment. Leading the industry in the creation of special features for the new Blu-ray Disc™ and HD-DVD format, New Wave adopted the DVD format at its inception, and continues to lead the industry, creating particularly rich documentaries, audio commentaries, featurettes, Behind-the-Scenes specials and EPKs. Recent DVD credits include The Harry Potter franchise, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, The Bourne Ultimatum, The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, Batman Begins, Happy Feet, Heroes, and Star Trek: The Original Series. New Wave is currently shooting behind-the-scenes on a number of overseas productions, including Wanted, Harry Potter, The Dark Knight, Hellboy 2, Get Smart and Mummy 3.
