Fender RecordsProffer has been partnered with Fender Musical Instruments for the past nine years. Fender is the most successful and renowned guitar and amp company in their field, for theses last nine years, Spencer has served as Fender’s strategic architect for the creation of media projects utilizing their well known brand, retail and online presence.

Currently, Fender has provided all the guitars, amps and full backline to both Meteor 17 exclusive artists, CROOKED X and THE CARTER TWINS. In fact, Fender is prominently featured in the Crooked X MTV Special, “ROCK N ROLL DREAM” when the band toured the Fender factory in Corona, California, hosted by Fender Director of Entertainment Marketing, Del Breckenfeld. The band performed for top Fender executives and Fender has now made custom Crooked X guitars for the band from the same custom shop that designs and makes guitars for the legendary Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Eddie Van Halen and others. Here are links to two Fender/Crooked X press releases: (1) Announcing the relationship with the band; (2) Announcing the release of the first CX album, powered by Fender.

Furthermore, Fender, in its growing presence in the Nashville community, has completely outfitted The Carter Twins’ band and has hooked the boys up with Shure Microphones and other strategic Fender partners (GRETSCH DRUMS; EMG PICKUPS, etc.) to fully outfit The Carter Twins' band.

In 2002, Spencer architected and oversaw FENDER RECORDS, a Joint Venture with Fender Musical Instruments, Time-Warner's Rhino Records and Proffer's Morling Manor Music Corporation {Meteor 17’s parent corporation}. The debut release on the Warner distributed label featured music by Eric Clapton, Green Day, Sheryl Crow, Alanis Morissette, Goo Goo Dolls, 3 Doors Down, Smashmouth, blink-182, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, amongst others.

During the run of Fender Records, for which Spencer served as off campus CEO, he also designed and negotiated was a Joint Venture between Fender and Irvine, California-based surf apparel maker Ocean Pacific to co-produce a CD and tour featuring emerging music acts and athlete-musicians affiliated with endorsements through OP. An online talent search was conducted through Fender's highly popular web site which receives over 100,000,000 hits per month and OP's retail outreach. Artists submitted MP3 music files to Fender.com for three months. The winners selected by Fender, Proffer and Meteor 17 longtime GM, Steve Plunkett.
